Ricardo Jorge Lopes
I did my PhD in Biology (University of Coimbra) and currently I am a researcher at CIBIO - InBIO (University of Porto). I also have been teaching at the undergraduated and graduated level in several Portuguese universities. My research and teaching is mainly focused in Conservation Biology and Evolution, from genetics to communities. For this reason I have been using several bird species as models and participated in many national and european (e.g. LIFE and INTERREG) scientific, conservation and educational projects. I have also been involved in several important milestones of avian Portuguese conservation, such as the classification of national protected wetlands, the most recent Red Data Book of Portuguese Vertebrates or the next Atlas of Portuguese Breeding Birds.
